Pictures of Rochdale taken between 1045 & 1115 on Tuesday 22 May 2007
Strangely, Pickup Street is in a Rochdale prostitution zone.
Electricity, gas and telephone services were first provided by British municipal authorities, such as this Rochdale Corporation electricity sub-station.
This was to attract business. One of the last to lose its municipal telephone service was Tunbridge Wells (hardly a bastion of municipal socialism).
Behind Rochdale Town Hall is a steep incline, and this fountain (below).
Rochdale Post Office was sold to the Council, the Post Office returned in 2001.
Rochdale has one tram stop, the one opposite destroyed in an insurance
related fire. The tram extension was suspended for the government to get its spending plans in order for the 2005 General Election (which they lost in Rochdale). Drug company Roche has a small office in Rochdale,
to the left is the tram stop.
Selecta Showers employed and quickly dismissed me when Keith Exford discovered. Selecta put getting rid of me before the information I had about
who was stealing its products and how. Perhaps they still do not know.
